Taylor Phinney of BMC Racing Team won the opening prologue of this year’s Giro d’Italia. As a result he held the pink leader’s jersey until stage 4. Taylor, the 2010 World Under 23 time trial champion and 2010 U.S. national time trial champion, is also considered a strong candidate for the Olympic squad in the time trial. Taylor was joined by his dad, Davis Phinney as a surprise guest! Support the Davis Phinney Foundation!

Carlos Perez founder of Bike Monkey joined us to talk about the documentary “The Levi Effect” and the Kickstarter campaign to fund it. Bike Monkey LLC is an event management company that produces Levi Leipheimer’s King Ridge GranFondo as well as other notable cycling events in Northern California. It produces a quarterly cycling literary publication that is available in print and online. Plus we had a surprise appearance by Levi Leipheimer!
